Bokeh- aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photo (how nice the background blur looks out of focus).

 

Things to Consider:

-Aperture

-Lens Quality

-Distance from subject

-Distance vs. Aperture- narrower aperture, bokeh more appealing (makes detail finer) you have to find a balance between them

-Lighting

For the exploration in F-stops you need to take a photo of the same still life in all of the f-stop settings that are possible on your camera.
